Hei!
April has definitely been a month of exploration!
I started the month with the Easter holidays in Ålesund. It is a beautiful city with a very unique architecture (Art Nouveau) in Norway, even if the weather was not always on our side. Still, it was a great to discover a bit more of the Norwegian coast. But, sadly, I still didn’t have the opportunity to take a ferry in Norway (which should be solve in May, but I don’t want to spoil my plans).
Later, I travelled to Røros, which, for me, is like the paradise of colourful Norwegian houses, … and organic milk! After randomly meeting a Swiss person in a café, I somehow ended up visiting the only place in Norway where organic milk is produced and one of the last farms that still has «original» Norwegian cows (as he said). Definitely one of those unexpected experiences you don’t plan when you travel!
More about the work: I attended a business fair for students in Ungdomskole, who take part of a course where they learn to create businesses (very interesting subject, that we don’t have in Switzerland). I was helping at the Ung i Midtdalen stand, so I didn’t really have time to see every stand, but I was really impressed by the creativity of the students. One group even built their own jacuzzi: they transported everything the same morning by tractor: the water, the structure (which they rebuilt on site), and the wood to heat it. Very motivated and dedicated youths!
During the weekend, I went to Flisa (the hometown of Matoma, a famous Norwegian DJ) for the county UKM. Between Friday evening and Sunday morning, we spent around 8 hours in the concert hall watching the performances (which is almost the same amount of sleep we got during the weekend)! But once again, I was amazed by the talent of these youths!
To finish the month in the best way, Ida and I travelled to Iceland for a preparation visit for the next Erasmus+ camp. It was my first time there, and the landscapes are truly unique: very few trees, dark rocks, and a very unpredictable (bad, but apparently, that’s just normal in Iceland) weather! I have a good feeling about the upcoming camp: a great programme is waiting for the participants.
So yes… April was full of new places explored!
Ha det bra!
Antonie
