It’s time for me to tell you goodbye. This EVS project comes to an end and I would like to thank all the people who have made me feel at home here. I have travel a lot, and I have never been so well received before.
If I had to choose, I would do it again with no hesitation, despite the difficulties sometimes to work with youths. I can also tell that Ung I Midtdalen (the organization I worked for) is doing a fantastic job, trying to give the youths living in Midtdalen the opportunity to take part in all kind of activities no matter their financial or social situation and to prevent them from all kind of bad habits (alcohol, drugs, bullying…).
It’s difficult to give an evaluation of the impact I had, but I do think that my presence had a positive effect in many ways, on the youths of the area, the refugees, the friends I made and of course on myself. This year taught me a lot and I leave as a different person than when I arrived.
My time has come to fly back to my country and my wonderful region, Bretagne. I have a mix feeling of sadness and happiness to leave but I can feel that my soul doesn’t belong here. Apart from my family and friends, I really miss the delicious French food, the French craziness, but also some kind of not politically correct and romance that you cannot find in Norway.
However, I promise to come back to visit one day, so this is only a « see you later » and not a final goodbye! Ce n’est qu’un au revoir !
